Getting slowly back to normal

The man responsible for the murders of the two girls who lived in Krailling was arrested on Friday. After over a week of uncertainty and sadness, now Krailling is quietening down. The girls have been laid to rest, the TV stations' vans that have been camping out close by have left, the helicopters are no longer circling on a daily basis, and the younger kids want to forget and continue with life as it was.

The weather has helped to boost our moods. Thanks to several days of high temperatures and beautiful skies we have been able to go out in shorts and t-shirts on our bikes to the local beergardens. We have also done some pottering in the garden: raking up the moss, sowing grass seed, planting flowers, pruning the bushes, and watering Lucy.

A colleague at the language school I've been working at for several years organised a book-signing session for me at a local bookshop this weekend. It was a really nice, little event. My book sold a few copies, the language school managed to connect with a few people interested in courses, and the owner of the bookshop had more business than usual, so we all benefitted.
