Heave-ho

Krailling's lady mayor said in her announcement on 1 May that Krailling is one of the few localities in which maypoles are still hoisted in the traditional way. It's jolly thirsty work, so no wonder that the chaps doing the hoisting had to drink so much beer. Then came the men with their saluting guns, just to scare the socks of us. The event was rounded off by the local dancers in their smart costumes, turning and swaying to the oompah band. It was a beautiful day, as you can see.

Mike has been for some more hikes. He gets up early, trogs up a peak or two (1,500m of total height gain is not unusual), then he drives home mid-afternoon, enthuses about the hike... and promptly goes to sleep on the sofa. Bless!
