Not-so-rare sightings

Rain tub
Storks
Ibex
On Saturday a week ago we went out to buy a replacement water barrel for our garden, since our old one had got too leaky. Everyone who is still suffering from the drought will be envious to hear that two days later it filled up within one hour, as heavy rainfall passed through.
Until a couple of years ago, we had never seen any storks in Bavaria. Since then we have occasionally seen individuals in the locality in summer, but after we left the barrel seller's we passed a whole flock of them.
Also Steinbock (alpine ibex) seem to be getting more common. The one in the picture was standing on the main hiking trail up the Benediktenwand, less than one hour from Munich, as Mike hiked up it. It stepped aside to let Mike past, but otherwise didn't seem at all bothered.
