An apple a day keeps the doctor away

This is our favourite saying after spending a day with friends and their kids on Saturday. One of the friends rents an orchard. He planted a variety of different apple trees there years ago, so every autumn the apples need harvesting. With help from the kids we collected a trailer full of apples, complete with bruises and worms, and drove them to a place where you can get them pressed and bagged before your very eyes. It was great fun. The residual apple mush gets collected by hunters who use it for animal feed. Incidentally, I heard today that you can catch foxes with bad apples and cat food.

The - by now very sunny - day ended in us transporting home 200 litres of fresh, pure apple juice. What a taste!
