It's been several years since we were able to go skating on Wessling lake, but the cold has frozen the ponds and lakes around here in the last two weeks. We took my youngest brother Ed and his girlfriend Melinda for a spin yesterday on the natural ice rink, and they loved it! It was great to get back to some hot tea and some cake afterwards.
Today it's started to snow more, so there's a constant sound of scraping outside as our neighbours go about clearing the pavements. Mike has sometimes celebrated his birthday in warm sunshine, but not this year. He'll probably have to forego opening his presents tomorrow breakfast time and get out shovelling snow instead!
