No space left at the zoo

... not for us, for our car! So we had to abort our visit to Munich zoo this afternoon and settled on a walk round a pond that's filled direct from the Isar. That idea turned out to be quite exciting, as we spotted lots of ducks, fish, frogspawn, and amorous frogs. Unfortunately, a mean swan also noticed the frogs and kept nipping at them and throwing them around.

Thingummy has caused us a lot of worry this last week, because he was very close to having pneumonia according to the vet. But he's recovering fine now, thank goodness. Mike is currently turning the pond area into Fort Knox, ready for when both terrapins spend a couple of the summer months in it. After both Bob (wherever he is) and Wotsit have done runners in the past, you can't be too careful.

Mike's legs are still recovering from a half-marathon last Saturday, in which he did a proud 1h34m. He's training for the Munich marathon now. My new racing bike works very nicely and got me to Andechs monastery and back this morning with hardly a break. Lucy and I still aren't feeling quite right after changing the clocks last weekend; we are waking up much earlier at the moment, but can thankfully make more out of the day, even if we spend most of it yawning!
