A white Christmas?
We think so! In the space of a couple of hours, a very nice covering of powdery snow has settled outside. It's just the right setting for Mike and Lucy's latest piece of craftspersonship (that's their Santa on the left). I made a Christmas wreath at a friend's house last Friday evening. The photo was taken last Sunday, hence only one candle is lit, whereas today we've lit two.
Lucy's latest fascination is a set of 216 small magnetic balls that she has managed to form into all sorts of interesting shapes. She's showing strong artistic tendencies these days, which her art teacher also recognizes by giving her good marks and by encouraging her to enter a logo-design competition. It looks like she's getting used to Big School now, meaning that life at home has become slightly less fraught!
We're enjoying the period of advent by meeting up with friends and drinking lots of hot beverages. The first batch of mince pies came out of the oven today, and the snow is adding nicely to the festive atmosphere.
