So, here we are in summer at last. It has been sorely awaited in these parts. The garden is in full bloom, the animals have their offspring to look after, but the snow is still all over the high mountains.
We haven't let that stop us going for hikes, though. Last weekend we went camping in Kleinwalsertal, which is where we normally have our winter holiday. It was lovely to see the region in its summer glory. The weekend just gone was spent in Austria, where we did a much longer hike than expected, up to the hut in the photos. That's where we spent the night. In the morning, the children (there were four) spent hours playing by a stream, building dams and chasing frogs. It was idyllic. It just goes to show that, even at the age of 10 going on 11, a bit of water and a few creatures can make for great entertainment.
