We've been spending lots of weekends away recently. A friend of ours turned 50 and invited lots of people to join him and his family in a farmhouse for a party. There was a climbing wall inside the house and the kids made good use of it.
In between time, we've been cultivating Grandma's Magic Beans. These plants grow quicker than Lucy, and that's saying something! Mike and Lucy made marks on the bean pole to see exactly how much the plants grew each day.
Last week, Mike, Lucy and friends made their 3rd annual trip to Igelsee (directly translated as "Hedgehog Lake"), where they cooked sausages over a campfire and swam. I wasn't with them on that occasion - I went to a seminar to do with business English and also to the monthly meet-up of my knitting club.
Lucy is enjoying her last evening of a school trip to the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It is the first time that she has been away for so many nights, but she seems to have coped just fine!
