My friend Dagmar is a stand-up paddling instructor and she lives in a village on the west side of the Ammer lake. Lucy and I did a course with her last year to learn the basics of the sport. We decided to take our paddle board down there for the full-moon event last Wednesday. Lucy set off across the lake and was gone for ages. When she got back there was just enough time for Mike to have a short paddle, and for me to fall in the water before it got too dark to see. Paddling is fun - we must make sure we use every chance to get out on a lake this summer.
