| The longest of hikes |

| Scrambles too |
After weeks of rainy or thunderstormy weather, we finally had a good, stable spell in the mountains. That was Mike's cue to get in his first summit bivouac since Christmas (!). So, after work on Friday, he, Belka and Mike's mate Pete hiked up Bodenschneid, seeing the sun set over Tegernsee lake on the way up. The summit provided perfect sleeping conditions, looking up past an impressive cross to the Milky Way, and in the early hours they saw first the moon and then the sun rise. They had bagged three more (small) summits by 8.30am, bought some cheese from a hut on the way down (from the lady who had made it, from the milk of the two cows they had just passed), and were home by lunchtime.
The following weekend Mike went to tick off an impressive ridge hike that he'd had his eye on for some time: the traverse from Friederspitz to Schellschlicht. This route wasn't suitable for dogs, so he went with a colleague from work instead, and they had a jolly good scramble.
