Last weekend Mike and Lucy went out and bought a Christmas tree for our living room, which Lucy then decorated. Next to it is a picture which Mike took from his office window at work one frosty morning last week, and pictures of frosted fir trees that he spotted on his latest hike in our local Alps. These were covered in beautiful ice crystals, which have obviously been growing for the last couple of weeks in the cold, misty weather. As in recent years, though, Christmas Day was rather mild. Boxing Day temperatures even reached the mid-teens, so we had to shed our coats so as to not overheat!
