We've walked the dog a lot of over the past week as part of our Christmas holidays at home. On Christmas Day we all went for a lovely walk in the local Würm valley, following Belka as she ran up and down steep slopes. On Boxing Day, Mike and I drove to Lake Staffel, half-way to the Alps, to walk along the lakeside and get the views across to the mountains. It became so warm in the sunshine that we had to take our jackets off.
On Friday, Belka took Mike for a long, long hike along a snowy ridge, giving them more sunshine and views of the mountains. On the other days, Mike has mostly been the one to get up early for the first walkies of the day before breakfast, but has been rewarded with a nice sunrise, lighting up the hoar frost on the bushes and trees.
Yesterday (New Year's Day), Mike and Belka dragged me all the way from Starnberg back home along a wonderful route, taking in woodlands, the riverside and fields. My legs ache a lot today and I fear that by tomorrow it might be difficult to walk up- and downstairs...
