While last week was warm and sunny, the one just gone was grey and cold again. However, the local woods are now full of spring flowers, which we enjoy whilst walking the dog. With Lucy away, Mike has been busy in the garden. The wooden tower he built a few years ago was starting to rot, so he demolished it into firewood and replaced it with a pile of rocks he had collected in the mountains. We plan to plant a few flowers in it to turn it into a proper rockery. But the birds already appreciate the bird bath now on its summit.
The hike up the Brecherspitz yesterday was good fun. Mike took the day off work and we were happy to not have traffic jams or busy mountain paths to contend with. When we got home, it was warm and sunny, so we enjoyed a well-deserved cuppa in the garden.
