Long weekend

After a week of pretty poor weather, it was nice to have sunshine for our long weekend (Friday was May Day). We trundled to the beergarden in the forest on our bikes on Friday afernoon, but Saturday was culture day. Lucy wanted to go to the kids discovery section in the Deutsches Museum with her classmate Max, and here you can see their oversized-Lego construction. Apparently it got dismantled later by other kids because Lucy and Max had used up all the available Lego bricks and left none for anyone else to build with!

On Sunday we went to collect some stones for our garden and the best place to do that is at the river Isar. We drove to Lenggries and walked along the river to a place where there is an array of cones built out of stones. The cones are well known and have been there for quite a while now. They took the man who did it two-and-a-half months to build - and he collected all the stones for them on his own. He was actually sitting at the site when we arrived and was guarding his masterpiece and gratefully receiving donations.
