Petwise yesterday was a really worrying day. I took Thingummy and Wotsit to a specialist vet to get them checked up. Wotsit was displaying a very pink belly and Thingummy's white spots were growing. They have come in from the pond now because it is no longer warm enough to keep them outside.
Wotsit appears to have blood poisoning, possibly a result of going AWOL while we were on holiday, and Thingummy has evidence of shell rot. Hopefully we have got both of them in time, but Wotsit is currently an in-patient at the vet's and has to have antibiotics for a week. Thingummy received an injection to boost the immune system and is feeling fragile. Fingers crossed that this time next week both of them will be on the road to recovery.
