We spent the weekend in the Chiemgau region with a bunch of friends who you've seen before on our blog. The kids get along very well together, which is great because they are happy to hop off into the fields, while we adults chat and drink coffee (or schnaps or whatever).
This weekend's location had a couple of caves to offer: one of them was named the keyhole cave after its remarkable shape. The kids were only too keen to don headlamps and scramble into the dark to see what was lurking underground. No need to feel scared though, it was only Mike.
Hallo! (That was Lucy's contribution to this week's posting.)
We did more walking than I've been used to lately. I need more trips to the mountains methinks. Up on the Hochries summit we were treated to the spectacle of an outdoor sermon (never seen one held atop a mountain before), accompanied by live brass music. And then there were the many colourful paragliders and hanggliders jumping off the mountain right in front of us. It kept the kids fascinated for ages!
On into this week: many of Lucy's classmates will be having their first communion on Thursday, which is a public holiday and also Fathers' Day here in Germany.
