Well, finally we've had a bit of snow. It began yesterday morning and got heavier in the afternoon and evening. By this morning, there was enough for Lucy and Mike to build a snowman in the back garden. He's quite good. Or rather was: the temperature went above zero and his head is now melting. Shame, but there is bound to be more snow soon.
The teddy above was made by Lucy in her handicrafts class. It's a notepaper holder with pencil stand and photo clip. Mike and I are really impressed by the stuff that's coming out of that class - we weren't allowed near woodwork tools until secondary school back in our day!
The primary schools here have now handed the fourth years their grade summaries. Grades are given as numbers here: a 1 is an A, a 2 is a B, and so on. Lucy's got four 1s and four 2s, so there's no doubt about her going to grammar school. The question is which? There are at least half a dozen within a radius of 10km. We'll soon be starting to go to open days and information evenings to see which school is the most appealing.
