A little in arrears

I was supposed to have updated the blog well over a week ago, but managed to forget. Never mind - better late than never! As I look at the pictures here, it occurs to me how colourful they are. The months pass so quickly and here we are again, taking part in the Krailling flea market at the annual village fete. We sold quite a lot of Lucy's old things. She is growing so quickly that the toys and games and high chair and bicycle are no longer right for her. In fact she has now taken up waveboarding - like skateboarding but with a board that twists in the middle and has only 2 wheels. I must try and upload some video of her in action.

Mike is currently training for a marathon taking place in October, but his first love remains the mountains. Despite warmer temperatures of late, he still had to stomp through rather a lot of snow to reach the summit pictured above of the Brunstlkreuz, on the 17th of May.

Our garden is a joy to be in. Our blackbird family, which we are sure has been with us for at least three years now, regularly visit the pond for a splash, and we do believe that the little chap in the photo is baby blackbird. We also became foster parents (if only for a matter of hours) to hundreds and hundreds of baby spiders one weekend. The young were most keen on crawling into Mike's trainers. We seriously wonder if it was the smell that attracted them, but they didn't put up with it for long and made their way quite soon in the wide, wide world beyond.
