Grandma's magic beanstalk has continued to grow, now right up to the roof, and has finally (!) started producing some beans for our dinner plates. We must have had at least six whole beans altogether. And all in time for the onset of autumn.
Mike and Lucy have just returned from another weekend at an alpine hut with friends. Lucy enjoyed paddling in the cold stream, but wasn't keen on hiking up any mountains. Mike and his pals were, however, interested in the latter, so they got up early to bag a summit before breakfast while the kids were still asleep.
