It's been pouring with rain all day, but we really don't mind. The garden desperately needs water; I can't remember the last time I needed to cut the grass, because it's gone such a long time without growing.
Yesterday morning, when the weather was still warm, we were visited by this little youngster, who landed on Mike's Guardian Weekly while we were eating breakfast. He flew into our living room and had a good look round before exiting and disappearing off to the trees. He'd given our next-door neighbours a giggle the day before by landing on their shoulders, heads and hands. It's amazing how much amusement - happiness, even - that such a little creature can cause simply by its presence and antics.
The terrapins are similar - it's nice just to watch the pond and see if they pop their heads out; and to come home during the day and find them sunbathing on the grass. Ah, that's the life!
