Mike's 50th birthday present to himself was some time off from his girls! He booked himself a flight to England and set a 10-day itinerary that would take him to some old hiking haunts in Wales, Scotland and the Lake District. His first stop, which is where he joined up with Richard, was Barmouth. The weather at the beginning of the holiday was pleasant enough to go wading in the sea, but it seems that from that moment on, the wind and sometimes also the rain took over.
Lucy and I were happy that Mike got some well-deserved R&R and some quiet time to drink a beer and read the newspaper, along with all those peaks he managed to bag. Now it's our turn. We're off on holiday to Poole in Dorset on Sunday. Can't wait!
