| Hello, Garmisch |
Steph would have liked to join Mike, Lucy and friends canoeing and camping in Franconia, except she had a knitting weekend to go on - also in Franconia. More about that in a separate post.
The purple gentian and the pink hydrangea are from our back and front gardens respectively. The odd one out, on the right, is the more rare Edelweiss gentian, spotted by Mike in the Alps on his last solo hike.
The brown creature hanging to the pond fence is apparently the larval skin of a dragonfly or damselfly (thanks for putting us right, Peter). It could possibly be the damselfly in the picture on the right. The green caterpillar in the middle (and his mates) demolished our little pot of rocket. I was not amused.
The final sequence comes from a hike Mike and I did last weekend. We dashed off from the airport after dropping Lucy off for her flight to Manchester, and went up a mountain overlooking Garmisch. It was a hot day, so we treated ourselves to a whopping great glass of buttermilk each on the way down.
