| New Year's Eve fireworks |
 |
| Deer in Forstenrieder Park |
 |
| Snow and ice |
After a New Year's Eve that appeared (to me, at least) to feature fewer fireworks than in previous years, we awoke to a beautifully sunny New Year's Day. The temperature was well below zero, but the sun and snow were so enticing that Mike felt compelled to go for a run.
I was itching to go for a walk, so Mike suggested a trip to Forstenrieder Park, a large area of forest where the inhabitant deer and wild boar can be watched while they feed. We spent a while in the observation shelter, sipping fruit tea and nibbling Marmite Chocolate (yes, it exists!) and training binoculars and camera on some rather majestic specimens. There were even a couple of cute youngsters among them.
So here it is: 2015. May it be a good year for us all.
