| Homemade ways to entertain one's dog |
We went to the zoo last weekend. It wasn't the best day for it, unfortunately, but at least we didn't have to queue. But because we didn't have to queue, we didn't see the signs in front of the entrance saying that the monkey house and the elephant house were closed due to repairs and renovation. We'd been looking forward to those monkeys, too. Not to worry, though, there was plenty else to see. The aquarium area is huge, so we spent quite a while in there, out of the cold and wet. The colourful fish made up for the grey outdoors.
Lucy found an easy-to-make dog intelligence game on the internet the other day and asked Mike if he could build it. No sooner said than done. Belka now has a self-service treat dispenser that requires a little bit of skill. And she loves it. Incidentally, we discovered yesterday that Belka is Bulgarian for "white". All this time I had believed that she'd been named after one of the first Russian dogs in space. Oh well.
