Hurricane Niklas descended upon us last Tuesday and wreaked havoc, decimating our beautiful forests and causing all sorts of damage. It took days for the gusts to die down. Walking the dog was quite a challenge.
We may as well have called Easter off, because the weather turned quite wintry after Niklas had left. There was snow and the temperatures were low. All signs of spring quickly receded.
Lucy, Belka and I spent the long weekend lazing on the settee watching films. Mike, on the other hand, was with his mate Pete in the Dolomites, having fun trudging up mountains and skiing back down again to (what they reckoned were) well deserved beers.
Spring appears to be making a reappearance, however. Just in time for our few days away to a dog-friendly hotel in an area where we can go for some nice walks. Belka has her own rucksack now, which we tried out on Easter Monday (I didn't spend
ALL weekend on the settee). She can now carry her own water and treats.
