Save the Children started a campaign a while ago to get people to wear hand-knitted Christmas jumpers on a particular day in December and donate money to the charity. This year, a German women's magazine decided to follow suit, teaming up with a yarn supplier to promote Save the Children with a "scarf for life". You bought the kit and a portion of the proceeds went to the charity. The idea was that everyone who had a scarf was to wear it on 11 December. The photo is of me and my knitting pal, Britta, showing off our designer scarves.
It hasn't often been cold enough to wear such a thick scarf, and there hasn't been a lot of snow so far in Munich. That's why Mike decided to take some photos of ice while he was on a couple of recent hikes, just to give that winter feeling.
