Dog-walking is a good way to see wildlife. One of our regular walks goes past a pond in the local woods, which is currently teeming with tadpoles. While Mike was walking there with Belka the other day, they spotted a slow worm on the path. It didn't seem to appreciate Mike's paparazzo antics (not many people/animals do), and stuck its tongue out.
On another of our walks Mike spotted what looked like a badgers' sett, so he returned there at dusk (minus dog) and, sure enough, ten minutes later Mr Badger stuck his head out. But he didn't seem to like being photographed either, as he retreated straight back into his den before Mike could focus his camera properly.
