"Fruits" of the forest

This month has been a good one for mushrooms and fungi. One of Mike's colleagues regularly goes out mushroom-hunting at lunchtime and usually finds plenty of edible ones. What he knows he and his family can't consume gets shared out among the other colleagues, Mike included. So we have enjoyed a couple of evening meals lately consisting of freshly picked ceps.

The fly agaric has to be one of my favourite fungi, looks-wise. Shame you can't eat them, as I'm sure they would look very pretty on a plate.
