We were so keen to camp this weekend, but were rather put off by the weather forecast. However, since Friday was very fine and Saturday was due to be fine until later on, we made a return visit - for just one night - to a campsite we visited for Lucy's first birthday. Same tent, but this time with dog instead of daughter. From our extremely sunny pitch we enjoyed views of the evening sunshine on the mountains, and the new moon setting over the woods.
This was Steph's first proper hike since her hip breaking in January: 15 km up and down a mountain valley, pausing at a hut half-way for cake and a coffee.
Our creature of the day was a very unexpected adder, which slithered across the path in front of us. What a wonderful hike!
